The Chicanos for Community Medicine will be holding their annual “National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge” on Wednesday, March 13 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the Flintridge Room of the USU. The challenge carries on Chavez’s legacy as a civic leader and promotes health education and civic engagement. The event also advocates careers in health and science and gives students a chance to save lives.
This challenge is now a nationwide event as student leaders on college campuses across the country are organizing a blood donor drive honoring Chavez. The event was founded in 2009 and is now expecting up to 250 colleges and universities and more than 30,000 students to participate.
