A suspect has been arrested in the kidnapping and assault of a 10-year-old Northridge girl, and investigators are searching for a second suspect who may have fled to San Diego.

Daniel Martinez was arrested and charged with kidnapping Sunday morning. His bail is $1 million. He is a 29-year-old Hispanic man from West Hills but was arrested at the 18200 block of Rayen Street, near CSUN.

Tobias Dustin Summers, previously identified as a suspect, is believed to have fled to San Diego and shaved his head.

This comes after a five-day search for two possible suspects after the girl was taken from her home in the middle of the night and transported to several locations before being dropped off near a hospital in Woodland Hills almost 12 hours later.

Over 50 calls have been made to a tip line, and police ask that anyone with information call the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division at (213) 486-6890.  Anyone who thinks they have seen Summers is urged to call 911 immediately.
