The University Student Union (USU) is recreating the 1950s for Matador Nights this Friday Sept. 6.
“We’re bringing the good ole fun of the time,” said Randy Sorensen, event supervisor intern. “The vintage look is hot right now.”
The event will have music, a roller skating rink, and rides at the USU, Plaza del Sol and Grand Salon.
DJ Eric D-Lux, a Los Angeles disc jockey who co-wrote LMFAO’s “Shots” will be performing throughout the evening from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The USU spent approximately $66,000 on this semester’s Matador Nights. It is free for CSUN students with a student ID only. Guests are not allowed into the event.
Tickets are available at the Associated Students ticket office, USU, and Satellite Student Union. The event will also have free food, carnival games, and an arcade.
“I’m excited to meet and socialize with new freshmen,” said Edward Zamora, freshman political science major. “I want to network with students and staff and be involved in the community.”
