Harold and Maude Screening
Description:
Celebrate the warm LA spring weather with a trip to the drive-in! Cuddle up with friends and watch the classic cult film “Harold and Maude”, about a teenager and a elderly woman who form an unlikely relationship. The drive-in features a snack bar, car hops, and even an astroturf area for moviegoers who don’t have a car but want the full experience. Also, tickets are now on sale for the drive-in’s summer series.

Los Angeles Heritage Day
Description:
Celebrate the long, diverse history of Los Angeles at the fourth annual LA Heritage Festival. Besides the dozens of local food vendors, local experts will be on hand presenting on the history of the area. More than 70 historic groups will also host booths, with activities and information on their roots in LA. The event is family-friendly (boasting an expanded children’s play area this year) so bring out the whole gang and get steeped in local culture.

Description:
Funny-bones beware, you’re about to be tickled to death: the LA comedy fest is back, and as jam-packed as ever. The two weekend-long festival features dozens of new comedy short films and features, stand-up routines and a screenplay contest. Just a quick scroll through the fest’s website presents hilariously enticing events. Who wouldn’t want to see a performance from the sketch comedy crew “Dungeons and Drag Queens” or the debut of “Donner Party: The Musical?”

SLUT: The Play
Description:
This innovative play shines a spotlight on a dark topic in today’s over-sexualized society: slut-shaming. The story follows 16 year-old Joey, who is found drunk and passed out in the bathroom at a friend’s house party, covered in vomit, panties in hand. Her three male friends who showed up with her are immediately suspected of assaulting her, and rumors spread throughout their community and high school about what really happened. The final punch of this show is that it is put on and run by actual teenagers.
