Nicolson wins at GADO tourney in Mexico

Cal State Northridge senior Kyle Nicolson posted rounds of 69-71-67 on the Flamingos G.C. course in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to win the GADO North Texas Classic individual title by two shots. ?As a team, the Matadors finished in second place out of a 14-team field.

Krohn is now all-time career points leader

The Cal State Northridge men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season Friday, losing to Duquesne 97-74 in the opening round of the Drake Iowa Realty Invitational Tournament. The Matadors were able to bounce back with a 69-43 victory over North Carolina Central on Saturday night, ending the weekend with a 5-1 season record.

Northridge suffers two more losses

The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team remained winless through its first six games with losses on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Following the theme of blowout losses, the Matadors were downed 91-64 by Portland State and 86-65 by Portland, dropping their record to 6-0 on the season.

In their final exhibition game, the Cal State Northridge men's basketball team defeated The Master's College 79-55 on Tuesday at the Matadome. Junior forward Tremaine Townsend governed the paint, scoring 15 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in 20 minutes of play.

The Cal State Northridge women's soccer team will play its final regular season games this weekend. The Matadors will play UC Santa Barabara on Friday and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on Sunday. Sunday's game will be a celebration day for the seven seniors who will be playing their final intercollegiate regular season game.

With a disappointing 1-4-1 record in the Big West, the Matadors chances to make the playoffs are slim even if they win their final two conference games.

In the midst of a late season playoff-push, the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team played to a scoreless tie against conference opponent UC Irvine at Matador Soccer Field last Sunday. Both teams had their chances throughout the game, but the Matadors controlled the ball for the better part of the match.
