Nicolson wins at GADO tourney in Mexico

Cal State Northridge senior Kyle Nicolson posted rounds of 69-71-67 on the Flamingos G.C. course in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to win the GADO North Texas Classic individual title by two shots. ?As a team, the Matadors finished in second place out of a 14-team field.

Krohn is now all-time career points leader

Originally Published November 7, 2007 Senior forward Kristy Krohn ended her collegiate career in fashion, becoming the all-time career points' leader with her goal in the 65th minute of a 1-1 draw against Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (7-9-2, 5-2-1). Six other seniors played their final collegiate game for the Matadors.

Delio Dominates, wins SCU tourney

Originally Published October 30, 2007 Cal State Northridge freshman Nick Delio became the first Matador golfer to win a tournament in more than seven years Tuesday, as he took the individual medalist honors at the SCU Invitational at Silver Creek Valley CC in San Jose. The Matadors finished in fourth place as a team.

Win streak snapped at 4

The Cal State Northridge men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season Friday, losing to Duquesne 97-74 in the opening round of the Drake Iowa Realty Invitational Tournament. The Matadors were able to bounce back with a 69-43 victory over North Carolina Central on Saturday night, ending the weekend with a 5-1 season record.

Northridge suffers two more losses

The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team remained winless through its first six games with losses on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Following the theme of blowout losses, the Matadors were downed 91-64 by Portland State and 86-65 by Portland, dropping their record to 6-0 on the season.

The Cal State Northridge men's basketball team prepares for the 2007-2008 season with expectations of an improved team. Head coach Bobby Braswell has high hopes for his team, which includes 12 new players and a handful of crucial changes in order to strengthen the team on and off the court.

In their final exhibition game, the Cal State Northridge men's basketball team defeated The Master's College 79-55 on Tuesday at the Matadome. Junior forward Tremaine Townsend governed the paint, scoring 15 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in 20 minutes of play.

Final two home games of season this weekend

The Cal State Northridge women's soccer team will play its final regular season games this weekend. The Matadors will play UC Santa Barabara on Friday and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on Sunday. Sunday's game will be a celebration day for the seven seniors who will be playing their final intercollegiate regular season game.

In a flash, the season has come and is just about gone for the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team, as only two games remain on the schedule, both at home. With a disappointing 1-4-1 record in the Big West, the Matadors chances to make the playoffs are slim even if they win their final two conference games.

In the midst of a late season playoff-push, the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team played to a scoreless tie against conference opponent UC Irvine at Matador Soccer Field last Sunday. Both teams had their chances throughout the game, but the Matadors controlled the ball for the better part of the match.
