Moy Gomez, torn ACL and all, is back

It was surprising to see leading scorer, forward Moy Gomez warming up on the sidelines at today’s men’s soccer game against CSU Fullerton, especially after some of his teammates told me they thought he’d be out for the remainder of the season, but there he was: Mr. Eight-goals-in-nine-games Gomez.

Gomez didn’t go in the game as the Matadors got a last-minute 3-2 victory over the Titans, but I caught up with him afterwards and he said he’d be back maybe as soon as the next game. Gomez said he has a torn ACL, but he got a clearance from his doctor to play. It’s really up to Davila to decide whether Gomez will play or not, though. The forward said he’ll do anything the teams needs him to in order for it to keep up its success.

Torn ACL, but the man wants to play. CSUN won today. It wasn’t a convincing victory, but they won.
