Brasswell, Tresvant trial postponed

The June 18 trial date has been postponed for CSUN’s leading basketball scorer Deon Tresvant, basketball coach Bobby Braswell’s son, Jeffrey Braswell, and actor Phannuel Gbewonyo.  June 18 was the scheduled date for the jury trial at the San Fernando Superior Court for felony charges of theft.

According to Deputy District Attorney Jeffrey Stodel, the defense requested more time and therefore the trail has been postponed.  A pre-trial date has been set for July 2, and the jury trial is expected to take place some time in August.

“This is a fairly common occurrence when it comes to trials,” said Stodel.  “The defense requested the delay and we will have to wait to see what happens.”
