Although USC is looking for a basketball coach with pro experience, Braswell is still being considered as a fallback choice according to a June 17 ESPN blog.  It seems unlikely that Braswell will land the high profile coaching position, but the consideration is worth mentioning.

USC is likely to go in the direction of hiring current New Mexico State coach Reggie Theus.  Theus is meeting with USC Athletic Director Mike Garrett on campus Thursday.  According to Andy Katz’s ESPN blog, Theus would take the job if offered, despite the fact that USC has an ongoing NCAA investigation and massive defections from a one-time top five recruiting class.
