Attempted robbery closes Nordhoff Street between Reseda Boulevard and Yolanda Avenue

An unsuccessful robbery was reported on Nordhoff Street between Reseda Boulevard and Yolanda Avenue on Tuesday night. After a K-9, search the suspect was not found and the search was called off, said LAPD Officer Karen Rayner.

At 7:45 p.m., a robber tried to snatch a purse from a female pedestrian. After one shot was fired into the ground, an unidentified security guard and the victim’s brother chased the suspect into a home on the 18100 block of Nordhoff Street.

Police evacuated three people from the property, who said no one else was inside. The K-9 unit was deployed afterward.

According to the LAPD Devonshire Division, the suspect is a Hispanic male, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 and wore a black hooded sweater. The suspect’s name wasn’t released.

    Its amazing how stories change from one person to the next….I heard that the girl was her cell with her mom who overheard everything. Her mom was calling the cops and canceling her daughters credit cards. I also heard that there were people around but nobody knew what was happening and that no one heard the gun shot…..I’m glad to hear that the girl is okay!
