As a nation, we have procrastinated acknowledging and dealing with the problems in our environment. We have taken advantage of our Earth and without question it is becoming time to ease our dependency on the things that destroy our surroundings. Global warming has become an important issue to today’s society.

Donating organs as important as donating blood

Seventy-four people receive organ transplants everyday. However, every day 19 people die while waiting for a transplant that will not take place because of the shortage of donated organs. That’s 6,395 people who die every year because they cannot get an organ transplant.

Increasing gap between rich and poor already too big

The differences and gaps between the people in the United States are overwhelming. There are differences in religious beliefs, political point of views and, of course, economics, to name a few. Most of these differences don’t affect individuals on a daily basis, but the economic gap between rich and poor is disturbing.

Greek societies need to look beyond surface

Stereotypical sororities and fraternities are perfect and accept nothing less. They have perfect-looking members who have perfect bodies and though they might not have perfect grades, it’s okay because school isn’t important. That’s not true at all. While I may not be brave enough to break away from my shyness and pledge a sorority, I’ve met people in both sororities and fraternities on campus.

CSUN helps keep students safe from assault

The world seems safe in the middle of the day. With the sun shining, we feel safe no matter where we are. However, the harsh reality of the world is, day or night, no one is truly safe. Although the sun’s warm rays may lead us into a false sense of security, the truth of the matter is sexual assault can happen to anyone, anywhere, at anytime.
