The Latino Theater Company hosted the August 29 play at the Plaza Del Sol Performance Hall in the University Student Union to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month and bring light to ongoing Chicano peril. Actors from community colleges around Los Angeles County told the story of Chicano journalist Ruben Salazar in a performance that blended activism, justice, and cultural pride. The production is also a part of The Latino Company’s “IMPACT Initiative,” which provides free accessibility to theater performances for participating students, allowing them to be in empowering communities both on the stage, and off.
