Earth 2, a new comic store near Cal State Northridge, is holding a grand
opening from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on June 13, 2009.
Owner Jeb Meyers has lined up some top talent to work at the store on opening
day.
Geoff Johns, one of the most popular writers for DC Comics, will be working the
cash register. Other high profile guests include Jeph Leob, who writes the Hulk
and is a creator of the hit TV show “Heroes,” will be handling customer service
along with James Robinson, who writes for the “Superman” comic book.
Phil Tan, a comic artist for “Green Lantern,” will be creating a mural on the back
wall of the store as well as bagging and boarding comics and doing live
sketches for some customers. Another celebrity who will be on hand is Zeb
Wells, the writer of “New Mutants,” which is the new Marvel “X-Men” comic.
Meyers has also set up other guest appearances throughout the day along with a
raffle of big merchandise and is offering 28 percent off all books in the store. A
live webcast at comicbookresources.com will be airing all day.
