A semi-truck was involved in an accident on the 118 freeway near CSUN during the rainy morning rush hour Monday morning, around 7:30 a.m.. At 8:15 a.m. the truck was still blocking lanes on both sides of the 118 freeway near the 5 freeway interchange. The truck could be seen balanced on the center divider with the driver’s cab on the east-bound side and the rear of the truck on the west-bound side.
A Sigalert was issued for the 118 West between the I-405 freeway and Sepulveda Boulevard, though both sides of the freeway were backed up. Drive times were doubled and traffic had slowed to below five miles an hour.
