Two free concerts performed by the LA Opera Chorus will be held Sunday afternoon at the Valley Performing Arts Center.
Featuring highlights from “Madame Butterfly” and “Carmen,” the set will be conducted by Grant Gershon at 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Audience members will also have a chance to sing along.
The performance is part of a series of events known as LA Opera Off Grand, a project aimed at bringing the company’s opera to stages outside the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion. Free tickets (did we mention free?) can be picked up at the VPAC ticket window, which is open Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
