Sundial Songs of the Week: Fall Series, Vol. 4

Julienne Shih/Illustrator

It’s been a long hiatus for DJ Du, and it seemed like she’s cleared her head enough to figure out a great playlist for the fifth week. In this edition, Du brings out the hits with a track from Zhu, Twenty One Pilots, and MisterWives.

Steven Zhu has been making a name of himself lately, especially with a collaboration track with AlunaGeorge. Commonly known as Zhu, the producer has a track out with the duo, who’s worked with such artists like Disclosure. Zhu’s track “Faded” was recently nominated for a Grammy.

MisterWives is an indie-pop band originating from New York and have opened up for bands such as Twenty One Pilots, the Mowgli’s and Half Moon Run

We take a trip to the west coast for Saint Motel, another indie-pop band from L.A. known for its “dream pop.” The group has toured with alternative bands such as the Arctic Monkeys, Imagine Dragons and Weezer.

Jimi Tents’ “Landslide” bring an drum-beat heavy hip-hop track that J. Cole fans would revel in.
