The best coffee spots to study for midterms

Here are the best coffee shops to study at. We have rated the shops out of five, five being the highest  and one being the lowest, based on food/coffee quality, crowdedness and noise level! Here are the places we have chosen!

Muddhouse Coffee
22742 Roscoe Blvd, West Hills, CA 91307
Hours: Mon-Fri 5:30 a.m.-8 p.m., Sat-Sun 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

It is a bit of a drive to Woodland Hills from the CSUN campus, Muddhouse Coffee’s quality in both drinks and food (famous for their scones) have customers coming back regularly from all parts of the valley. Studying is definitely a viable option at this location – peaceful, free Wi-Fi and staffed with baristas willing to customize a drink anyway a customer desires. The walls are bare and music is scarce so focusing on schoolwork is never a problem.

Just a quick five minute drive down the street, Gayle’s Perks is nothing but convenient for those living around the CSUN campus that need a quiet place to study. Outlets are plentiful for students lugging around their laptops, tablets or even just a quick charge for cell phones. Regarding their menu, Gayle’s Perks offers monthly specials that highlight new sandwiches or drinks concocted by the workers. The garden patio offers a calm and peaceful outdoor study area, making customers feel right at home.

Crave Café
14504 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403
Hours: Mon-Sat 24 hours, Sun 6 a.m.-12 a.m.

Although on a regular afternoon, Crave Café may seem a little too hectic for studying, it is definitely a great place for night owls who enjoy getting work done at a later time, as they are open 24 hours. Along with the usual lattes and cappuccinos most coffee shops offer, Crave also serves eggs and omelets, both sweet and savory crepes, salads, and even paninis to keep energy flowing for the long night ahead. The workers, always energetic and friendly no matter what time you come in, combined with the offbeat decorations on the walls make studying a bit more enjoyable.
