St. Patrick’s Day Events Los Angeles

ST. PATRICK’s EVENTS

St. Patrick’s Day may fall on a Sunday

this year (it’s on March 17), but that

doesn’t mean a Monday morning class

is reason enough to stay in this weekend

studying, while the rest of Los Angeles

is getting down on corned-beef, green

beer and Irish Car Bombs. Sure, staying

near campus or around the valley would

be ideal for some, but the city is truly

the place to be for the most anticipated,

alcohol-induced celebration of the year.

Here’s a few places worth checking out:

Casey’s Irish Pub

613 S. Grand Ave. LA

For more information call (213) 629-2353

An event in LA with its 41st Annual St. Patrick’s

Day Street Festival, from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Featuring live music, beer, whiskey, food and

all things Irish, the block party is free before

1 p.m., $8 after that. There is the option for a

$20 VIP pass that lets holders skip lines.

Cole’s French Dip

118 E. Sixth St.

For more information call (213) 622-4090

The Red Car Bar at Cole’s seems to have it

all. With Irish coffee (and milkshakes), Guinness

Floats, Jameson pickle backs and corned beef

and sauerkraut on rye, each for $10 or less.

Tom Bergin’s Tavern

840 S. Fairfax Ave. LA

For more information call (323) 963-7151

This will be the first time the tavern

celebrates St. Patty’s since their renovation,

and they’re not holding back. Open

from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m., an Irish breakfast

will be served all day. A “Stout Off,” featuring

four taps each of Guinness Stout

and O’Hara’s Stout, will ensure a steady

flow of drinks through the evening.

The Cat & Fiddle

6530 Sunset Blvd. LA

For more information call (323) 468-3800

$5 pints of Guinness will be available from

4 to 5 p.m., and all day they’ll be serving up

specials on corned beef and cabbage plates.

Dillon’s Irish Pub

6263 Hollywood Blvd. LA

For more information call (323) 315-9744

Every day at Dillon’s might as well be

St. Patrick’s Day with waitresses in plaid

skirts and fishnets, $3 pints of any draft

beers and a menu that makes Ireland hungry.

Around the holiday however, Dillon’s

opens its doors early from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.

and gets a bit more festive with green beer

and bagpipers.

Wirsthaus

345 N. La Brea Ave. LA

For more information call (323) 931-9291.

It may be a German restaurant and pub, but

Wirsthaus is making sure you get shitfaced

nice and early this St. Patty’s with an all-youcan-

drink beer brunch from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

for just $27. It doesn’t take the greatest math

skills to realize this equals drunken success.
