Campus gallery shows Pacific Island artists

The CSUN Art Gallery is hosting “Island Affinities: Contemporary Art of Oceania,” an exhibit of contemporary artwork from the south Pacific, which opened to the public on Jan. 29. The exhibition is the result of a collaborative effort between CSUN professor Peri Klemm and her exhibition design class, and Jewel Castro, a Samoan artist and art professor at Mira Costa College.

After incidents, women’s center tries to raise awareness

The Women’s Resource and Research Center is working to raise awareness on campus dealing with sexual assault and battery charges that were reported in previous semesters. The WRRC is a safe spot for students to escape to when needed. They offer a place to go for peer counseling and referrals to other major resources as well as a place to study and make new friends.

CSUN students create magazine for new generation of readers

A new magazine called The American hit newsstands for the first time this January at CSUN and various junior colleges in the Los Angeles County. David MacNeal, a 21-year-old magazine journalism major at CSUN, is the brain behind the pages for this magazine which targets readers between the ages of 15 and 35.

Suspects still sought in on-campus crimes

As the spring semester rolls around so do the crime alert bulletins in and around the CSUN community. Two crimes were reported within the two weeks before school started. An unidentified suspect allegedly brandished a firearm during a confrontation at the Redwood Hall Matadome on Jan.
