The LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division has identified a suspect in the case of an assault and kidnapping of a 10-year-old Northridge girl.
Tobias Dustin Summers was named as the only suspect in the case at a 3 p.m. press conference, available through live stream.
Summers is described as a 6 foot tall, 30-year-old man with blond hair and blue eyes, weighing about 160 pounds and has a distinctive tattoo on his right arm.
Summers has a criminal history that dates back as early as 2002 with arrests for kidnapping, robbery, possession of explosives, petty theft and grand theft auto.
He was released from prison in July 2012 under AB109 status, which puts lower level offenders on parole to ease prison overcrowding.
He is said to frequent Devonshire and North Hollywood areas in the San Fernando Valley and has family in the Southern California area.
Police urge anyone with information on Summers to call 911 immediately.
