CSUN finished in ninth place after the first two rounds at the OGIO UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate tournament Monday at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara.
As a team, the Matadors started the match 19 over par and finished one over par. CSUN stroked a 306 in the first round and hit 289 in the second round, for a total score of 595.
Individually, Kyler Sauer led the Matadors on the scoreboard. Sauer started the match two over par and finished up at three under par. Sauer stroked a 77 in the first round and he went on to hit a 69 in the second round, for a total score of 146.
Juniors Steven Molumby and Michael O’Connor also did well for the Matadors as they finished the day tied for 21st place. Both players had a total score of 147.
Utah’s Casey Halliday finished in first place as he stroked a 72 in the first round and a 68 in the second round, which placed him on top with a score of 140. UC Santa Barbara finished in first place with a total score of 579.
