Students and faculty resumed regular activities at Northridge Academy High School after a 90-minute investigation that resulted in a false alarm.
Around 8:40 a.m. there was an unattended package at Northridge Academy High School.
The school was placed on lockdown around 10:16 a.m. while Los Angeles School Police Department (LASPD) and CSUN Department of Police Services K-9 units conducted an investigation.
The investigation concluded at approximately 11:47 a.m.. Students and faculty were informed to resume all activities, said Mayra Arriaga, public information officer for the LASPD.
Students, faculty, and staff were evacuated from all buildings and redirected to the high school’s blacktop, according to Arriaga.
Parents gathered outside seeking information from school administration. Some parents pulled their kids out of school for the rest of the day.
“The school doesn’t want to give us any more information other than everything is okay,” said a parent who did not want to be named.
Parents found out about the bomb threat from their kids via text.
Zelzah Avenue was shut down between Plummer Street and Superior Street during the investigation.
More updates to come.
