Dancing in the Dark to kick off year for USU

Dancing in the Dark is the first in a series of dances and other fun events being brought to CSUN students by the University Student Union (USU) this school year.

“This is an event to have students come and have a good time while two of the hottest DJ’s are mixing,” said Khushboo Ganwani, marketing assistant for the USU.

Dancing in the Dark will have some of the hottest electronic music from DJ Avi D (from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and DJ Nobody. The event is set to end at 1 a.m.

“Tickets are only available for the first 200 people who get them online at usucsun.ticketleap.com/dance, said Ganwani. “Since it is a smaller event we have to limit the number of people we can allow in and students will have to show CSUN ID at the door.”

As the tickets are going fast for this event, it is just one of many events to take place this semester with different types of music, Ganwani said.

Glow sticks, bracelets, mocktail drinks, candy and snacks are just some of things to look forward to at Dancing in the Dark.

“The USU sent out an invite on Facebook to (CSUN students), and already, over 400 people have RSVP’d to attend this event,” Ganwani said. “It shows that students seem kind of excited for this event.”

Dancing in the Dark will be held Thursday, Sept. 22 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the USU’s Grand Salon.
