UPDATE: 4:30 p.m. — Capt. Andrew Smith said at 2:50 p.m. an unknown citizen had called LAPD with a tip that the girl was in the parking lot of the Goodwill near the southeast corner of Canoga Avenue and Oxnard Street.
Officers were at the nearby Starbucks and quickly responded to the call. The girl was found with bruises on her face and cuts, walking around the parking lot without shoes. Officers called an ambulance who took her to a local hospital.
Smith said LAPD is unsure for how long the girl had been in the parking lot or who had dropped her off.
UPDATE: 3:45 p.m. — LAPD confirms that the girl was found at the Starbucks on Canoga Avenue and Oxnard Street.
UPDATE 3:00 p.m.– LAPD has announced that the FBI is involved in the search for the girl.
LAPD is searching for a 10-year-old girl has been missing from her home since Tuesday night.
According to City News Service, police were notified around 3:30 a.m. when the girl’s mother discovered her missing from her bedroom. The girl is 4 foot 11 inches, Caucasian with red hair, about 100 pounds and was last seen in a black “Heroes” T-shirt. She lives near the 8800 block on Oakdale Avenue near Nordhoff Street.
LAPD asked anyone who knows of her whereabouts or additional information to call 911.
