The first round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament between the CSUN Matadors and the South Carolina Gamecocks will be shown at the Pub Sports Grill in the University Student Union (USU) on Sunday, March 23 at 2:30 p.m.
The basketball game will also air on ESPN.
Susan Dickman, program and marketing manager, said the event is a great alternative for students, faculty and community.
“There has been times that some people view CSUN as a commuter campus and it’s events like this that really bring our community together and reinforces that we could have the college experience that everyone wants to have,” Dickman said.
Drinks and food will be available for attendees and the event is free. The pub will offer specials on its Matador Burger and will have giveaways throughout the game. Attendees must wear red to receive meal discounts.
The Matadors, who won the Big West Tournament championship on March 15, were seeded No. 16 on Monday during the NCAA Selection Show.
If the Matadors win Sunday’s game, they will advance to the second round of the tournament, and will play a game on Tuesday.
