October is finally here, with a break from the heat finally at hand. CESPA Roundtable Discussion on Cuba
Five professors from CSUN went to Cuba and will be holding a roundtable discussion on what they observed and what they learned during their trip. Recently the U.S. and Cuba have worked to tighten relations between the nations, and Pope Francis has called for peace between the countries as well. This will be an open discussion and not just a lecture, so feel free to ask questions.

Cindy Crawford, once upon a time was a model, now she’s releasing a book talking about that life and that world. Panic Mountain: the Ultimate Halloween Zombie Nightmare
There is an area, near lake Arrowhead where they say a ‘zombie outbreak’ has started. If you’re the adventuring type, obviously you want to check this out! This will include a day filled with obstacle courses, panic rooms, paintball arenas, zip lining, and mazes! If you pay for the extra overnight this also includes dinner, lodging and breakfast.

Art Gallery
This isn’t a movie prequel to “Schindler’s List.” An art exhibit based in West Hollywood, “Schindler: The Prequel” portrays the flourishing renaissance in Vienna during R.M. Schindler’s prominence. The Kings Road House, among others, is showcased in the exhibit.

Unlike most plays/musicals that are a complete product from start to finish, this show is actually more like a TV show. Sophie and Charlie will feature “episodes” that will play out over the course of several weeks. This is a romantic modern-day tale of a man name Charlie and a woman named Sophie.

The natural history museum of LA has just opened a “Becoming Los Angeles” exhibit that shows off how LA became to be what it is now. Drop in/ Take Ten : Career Speed Mentoring
Speed Mentoring is similar to the practice of speed dating; you hear a ding, sit down and talk for 15-20 minutes, hear a ding, get up and move to the next person. That’s the spirit of this event. Professionals from engineering, science and mathematics fields will be at CSUN to answer any and all of your questions, within a short period of time. After the time is up you’ll move on to another professional and soak as much mentoring as you can!
